“Why do people believe in Homeopathy?”

Truth Behind Homeopathy

Homeopathy Boon Or Curse

All relevant scientific knowledge about physics, chemistry, biochemistry and biology gained since at least the mid-19th century confirms that homeopathic remedies have no active content. They are biochemically inert, and have no effect on any known disease.

Why do so many people believe in homeopathy?

This surely is a question everyone of us had wondered that despite complete rebuttal of Homeopathy[1], why this pseudoscience is still prevalent in medical treatment with so much popularity. Afterall only people’s ignorance can not be the sole responsible factor behind successful business of homeopathy basing upon quackery of medical science.
The biggest dominant reason of outreach of homeopathy is the LEGITIMACY it has been provided with from the government.
We grow up in society seeing legitimate doctors clothed with BHMS medical degree, practising homeopathy around us without countering any negating inspection, which makes us get used to them. Lack of any effectiveness from homeopathic medicines is covered by claiming long term treatment, and lack of side effects (because of containing effectively only sugar, water & alcohol) does the remaining job to make it popular in comparison to Allopathic treatment.
This is a List of some Top Homeopathy Medical Colleges in India providing Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) to practice this pseudoscience.

Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Delhi. …

National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata. …

Homeopathy Arc, Indore. …

Bakson Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital, Noida. …

Bharatesh Homeopathic Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka. …

Recently introduced Ministry of AYUSH is also a step forward in recognition of homeopathy as an alternative medicine system.

The ministry (in conjunction with other national laboratories) has been subjected to heavy criticism for developing, advocating and commercializing multiple sham-drugs (BGR-34, IME9, Dalzbone, Ayush-64 et al.) and treatment-regimes for a variety of diseases including dengue, chikungunya, swine flu, asthma, autism, diabetes, malaria, AIDS, cancer et cetera despite a complete absence of rigorous pharmacological studies and/or meaningful clinical trials.[2]

At present, in India, homeopathy is the third most popular method of medical treatment after allopathy and Ayurveda. There are over 200,000 registered homeopathic doctors currently, with approximately 12,000 more being added every year.[3]
Good news is Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Spain etc countries have started to ban the homeopathic practices finally after acknowledging the fundamental implausibility and lack of demonstrable effectiveness and hopefully India will follow.
